Ah you too survived the 2008 recession. I moved to NYC around 2009 after I graduated and I won’t have to tell you how hard it was for me to find a job! I majored in design and ended up working as a junior designer at a small company. It was hard time but it did make me tough and I gained so much experience… it is true that what doesn’t kill you make you stronger.

I’m one of your new-ish subscribers, I guess. I am curious, What’s your most prized item? What makes it your favorite? Does it have a story?

Welcome! So glad to have you here! 2008-2009 was definitely a time! I was so young and carefree then, exploring the city, that I didn't fully grasp the economic climate at the time. Looking back, I realize how incredibly fortunate I was to find a job when so many were struggling. It really does make you appreciate things.

As for my most prized jewelry item… it's definitely my engagement ring. It's sentimental, of course, but it's also something my now-husband and I designed together. It's an Art Deco-inspired piece, made by our friends at Erstwhile, but with a unique, modern twist: an antique marquise diamond set east-west (across my finger) vs north-south. I'd love to hear more from you too! Feel free to drop me a line anytime in the chat.
